Conversion, what is that? Conversion, simply put, is converting visitors into customers. A high conversion rate means that relatively many visitors make a purchase from your webshop, a low conversion rate means that relatively few visitors complete a purchase. Shopping process

Shopping process? Yes, the shopping process. A simple and well-thought-out shopping process is very important for your conversion. Customers should be able to easily indicate what they want to add to their shopping cart, and without too much hassle when completing the order. If customers have to make too much effort to pay, they will of course not do so quickly. Adjust the shopping process where necessary to suit your target group.

Appearance

The appearance of your webshop is very important for conversion. An attractive webshop attracts more customers. This includes the colors and design of your webshop, but also adding “product sliders” and “product grids”. The buttons, photos and texts in your webshop must also be visually attractive, otherwise your visitors will not complete a purchase so quickly.

language use

As mentioned earlier, you must think about your target group and adjust your language and texts accordingly. The older target group does not understand English terms as quickly as the younger target group. Also consider the way of addressing your customers and “exhibiting” your products. Also use positive, praiseworthy words in your product descriptions. Then visitors will make a purchase more quickly, so your conversion will increase.

Make it personal

Make your webshop as personal as possible and bring your visitors as close to you as possible. Introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your company, things like your range/specialization, date you were founded, how you started, and your first product (if applicable).

You can further improve your conversion by offering your products well. How should you offer your products? We start with the photos. Make it detailed and clear, colorful if you want, but that is not mandatory. The description is very important. Provide a short and sweet description of your product. Expand it further by adding specifications (colors, materials/fabrics and other features) below. Below you can place a more extensive version of the previously made description (if you want) so that people know exactly what they are buying and, for example, where it comes from, how exactly it works, etc.

Mailing lists

A mailing list can be used in many ways to increase your conversion. You can use it to inform visitors when a certain product is back in stock. You can also set one up to advertise a promotion, a new collection and much more. If a visitor encounters your products more often, he will be more likely to buy them. Discount

One of the most effective ways to get people to make a purchase is to offer discounts for new customers. Combine this with a mailing list: offer people a one-time discount if they enter (and possibly verify) their email address. Offering discounts may be the most effective way to increase your conversion, but it will cost you profit per product. Still, offering discounts is a good option, for example if you need to get rid of old stock.
